As your benefits advisor, we would like to take this opportunity to provide you a summary of the key components of the health care reform legislation and how it may impact you and your business. You’d have to be living under a rock to not be aware that the Obama administration is currently pushing for some major changes to the U.S. Health Care System! And, of course, Benefits by Design is following along closely to what is transpiring.
We are all aware that there are many problems and frustrations with our current healthcare system. We have been working for years behind the scenes to try to help with issues relating to the uninsured and so forth. No one knows what the perfect solution is at this point, but we can all agree, some changes must be made! However, one change that will destroy the level of care that we all have come to expect is a government run system.
One of the main reasons we do not support a government run health system is that the role of the agent and broker would be drastically reduced or eliminated, to the detriment of small employers and individuals! We know that we provide a valuable service to our clients! Please take some time to share this website with any colleagues, friends or family who do not completely understand the important role of agents! www.brokersmakingadifference.org (more…)

Most of you know that the cost of health insurance goes up every year. But the main reason for this is the rising cost of health care! Have you ever thought about why this is? Health insurance is there to help you pay for health care. It is there to protect you and your family against catastrophic financial loss in the event of an unexpected serious illness or injury. Luckily, we live in a time when medical knowledge and technology are being used in amazing ways to help us live longer, but this comes at a price, which is rising at an alarming rate. Some of the contributors to the rising cost of health care are: (more…)
For many of you, the term H.S.A. is familiar, but there are still many who are confused as to what exactly an Health Savings Account is! We would like to provide you with some basic information.
For our clients who already have implemented HSAs, here are the new 2009 IRS guidelines:
New Annual Contribution Levels for HSAs:
Introducing Ryan Hansen, Director of Account Services
Please welcome Ryan Hansen to our team!
Ryan is our Director of Account Services. This means she will be working directly with all of our clients and their employees on any questions, issues or concerns they may have. Erin is also still on the team and will be acting as “back up” for Ryan, but will transition into mostly Marketing and Sales.
Ryan comes to us from United HealthCare where she had over six years of experience. We received excellent customer service from her for years and finally talked her into joining us on the broker side. We know you will love working with her. Ryan lives in Maricopa with her husband and two boys!
Tisha Jones
Please welcome our new Account Manager!
Tisha Jones comes to Benefits By Design with more than 7 years of experience in the insurance business! She worked at an agency on the Property and Casualty side, but she is looking forward to learning more about employee benefits!
Tisha has great customer service knowledge and is used to dealing with many different clients and insurance companies at one time (she’s a great multi-tasker!). She is married to Kimmel and has a large 4-legged, furry child named Topper–a beautiful German Shepherd. She resides in the East Valley. Please don’t hesitate to call her with any questions.
